Cleaning electrical contacts

After doing the restore of my interior, including replacing fuels lines, I'm having trouble starting my '81. I'll have to check a number of things (eg. fuel supply, spark, etc...) but I'm thinking now might be a good time to ensure all connections are good. Is there a good procedure/spray to clean and treat connectors to ensure good connections? Some people mention di-electric grease.

Thanks Jay. I'll take a look later.

Also is there a guide on what the resistance measurements should be for things like spark plug wires, etc...? I measured my spark plug wires and they were 1.5 (not sure of the OHM scale yet - have to check the setting on the meter) for the spark plug wires and 4.5 for the ignition coil wire. Is this normal?

Plug wire should be roughly 1000ohm per foot if you have some sort of resistor wires. For the most part a bad wire will show open circuit, so knowing the exact resistance really isn't that important.
There is a product, Stabilant 22A, or something like that. Carquest carries it, so do a few others. It is expensive, it is a contact enhancer, I believe it was developed for the military.
I would recommend you find out why your car doesn't start before you just start dinking with connections.
