the later model MGBs have rubber bumpers. ( Most collectors prefer the earlier chrome bumper ones) Later model MGBs have a much higher ride height to meet us standards. The later model MGBs have much more smog equip = less performance. I would pass on a Late model MGB. Stick to a chrome bumper MGB. ( Better yet buy a FIAT )

I've always been partial to MGB's, particularly the earlier small bumper ones. Except, of course when it came time to put the top down. However, you might want to get some advice from another forum, such as: http://www.mgexperience.net/
If you've got the grand, though, buy it.

An old boss used to have a MG. It had rusted out floor boards. He used plywood, unless he felt like going Flintstone.

If it has no rust it would be hard to go wrong. There is a strong loyal MG/Brit car fan base out there, and a rust free car would be desired by many.

Buy it, fit it up a bit and get it running pretty well with minimal expense, and sell it for a profit, with which to buy a Spider :- )

Buy it. I have had MGBs for 20 years and find them very reliable. There is exelent parts supply out there and good forums. You can get the parts to change the rubber bumper to crome bumper car spects including the ride hight and dual carb convertions. Complete bodies are avalible new as well as all body parts. The best manual is one by Bently.
