I haven't posted in a while. The car has been ready for paint for almost 2 years. I finally got it done. It is so nice to have the car look good and have all the trim pieces back on. Please take a look. I will try to post a link to a photo album soon (before and after). I know how I like to look at pictures. Thanks

Here is a link to a photo album.....

Torxx, are your bumpers from an early car or did you get the stainless steel ones?

Car looks great! The rear speakers look quite big. Did you do anything to the interior panel to fit them so they didn't interfere with the windows when the top goes down?

Ron, the bumpers are after market ones made to fit the newer models. The quality is not great, especially, if the car is not garage keep. it also takes a little tweaking to get them installed and look right. Overall I am happy with them, love the look. My car stays in the garage.

Courtenay, no special modifications for the speakers to fit except there is spacer ring that keeps the the speaker out a bit so they won't get in the way of the folding top. I wish I had painted the grills black before installing. Removing the grills, in my case, requires removing the entire speaker after pulling out the panel (front and rear). I don't feel like messing with it.It looks ok, but black would be less obvious.

Torxx,
re the aftermarket bumpers (if they are the chromes steel and not the stainless steel version) I strongly recommend to paint the inner side and wax both the inside and the chrome (polish it afterwards) - otherwise expect them to catch rust and/or loosing some of the chrome within one year.
ciao,
Stefan

stefan, funny you mentioned that, I was thinking of doing that as I was putting the bumpers back on a couple of weeks ago. I guess I will take them off and do it one day soon. It is clear they are dying to rust, even when garage kept. Thanks
