Been a long time Ihope Fiat can do it again.

It has been several years since I owned a Fiat. I tried to find a nice Spider for over 2 years and ended up with a Miata. Best roadster I've ever had. It just seems to be missing a heritage.

I've had MG's, Fiats, and several other sports cars. I never had any trouble with the Fiats I've owned over the years, but I bought them all new or close to new. 131 Superbrava, 131 Abarth, 124 Spider, X1/9. I followed the proper maint. schedules so they performed the way they should.

I really hope that now that they own Chrysler they can bring us a reasonable sports car that can compete with the Miata. This Miata has been trouble free and requires nothing but oil changes. It's a 97 with 155,000 miles on it. I just put a supercharger on it and it is still trouble free with that many miles and just now added forced induction.

I miss Italian styling, the quirky pedal and steering wheel postions, etc. I hope they can bring us a sportscar that will be a proper Fiat, whether it bears the Dodge or Chrysler name. I drove a Barchetta in Europe and it was a good car in it's day, but wouldn't be competitive now.

Our beloved Fiat Spiders seem to be disappearing at a rapid pace and I hope we can have something new to be alongside them on the street and at car shows.

Amen, amen. I've been biding my time, trying to hang on to my Pontiac until Fiat comes back to America. Even though I've had great luck with my GM products, I'm ready for a new 500 Abarth. As for Fiats, they may be getting scarce, but there are still a few great examples out there to be had.

I couldnt agree more re. the Miata.Great cars and bulletproof. But the lack of any personality and the fact that there are 2 or 3 at every intersection turned me off.I did almost buy one though.Fiat has this one last chance to get it right,in the U.S. market.

I have notice a lot of Miatas being driven with the top up. Mine is always down unless it's raining. We have a very active local club and we went on drives all during the winter and everyone had their tops down. I guess the enthusiasts like the top down and the folks that use them for a DD don't want to mess up their hair.

I think you hit it right on the head.I live in a area that a lot of clubs frequent for drives.Beautiful weather and the Miatas come with the top up! We figured they just had great a/c's. :D They really are a great car and they have the support of Mazda, who promote high performance and racing better than anyone.
