Thanks for starting the thread, Mark. Denise Burchette and her sister Kimberly will be visiting from NC, so what better excuse to plan for a California Moonshine Drive! Saturday, March 20. We plan to depart Warner Plaza shopping center near Canoga Park early afternoon, with a twisty drive through the Santa Monica mountains, and drop on down to the coast highway for a picnic stop in the late afternoon. More details to follow soon.

Sound like fun...and all for little ole' me and my sister?!! I've been trying to figure a way to smuggle some moonshine on the airplane to make it a true moonshine run, but it hasn't come to me. Any suggestions?

I'll be fine if you have a Fiat ready for me...just so it has an AC-Delco battery in it. :P I really am looking forward to meeting everyone on the left coast and checking out the beautiful scenery. The last time I was in CA, I stayed the night and headed back home. This time I'll have two whole days!

I've got the battery, but we may need to get your Fiat elsewhere. My engine parts are at the machine shop, and I'm hoping to have it all back together by then. II'll keep you posted.

You coud do what I do when shipping small parts to the US, and mail it. Mind you I send installation fluid in a can, and I'd suggest a steel flask for the hi-test stuff.

Bernie, the SoCal folks are organizing it so they get to set the pace on this one.....but guess who's helping to organize the FFO this year?!

Mailing it is a good idea. I'll have to get my hands on some and send it to Alvon under the Fiat parts guise.

Count me in, I just drove that drive this past weekend and it is a great one I'm ready for it again. There was an old Ferrari at 'The Rock Store' that was pretty neat.

I'll be there too! Need to wake the beast up out of it's winter hibernation in my dad's garage.

Hey Gary! It'll be great to see you and your car again. Too bad I won't have mine. I think I'm really going to miss having it, especially if Ace doesn't get his car ready in time....but I have faith in my good buddy. :D

Ron and I drove the planned route Wednesday for the March 20 California Moonshine drive. All the roads are open . . . haven't been washed away by all the recent rain. Here's a few pics that Ron and I took with our cell phones on Wed of a few scenic places along the route.

Lot's of tight windy turns, with steep climbs and descents. Make sure your brakes are in good working order, or we'll be scraping you off the canyon floor! The drive ends at a gorgeous park on a bluff overlooking the ocean in Malibu, where we'll stop to eat and check out all the cars. Denise is still working out the details for getting the Moonshine here. The sisters are really looking forward to meeting you all on this drive.

Details of the drive:
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Meet at Warner Plaza Shopping Center ( http://tinyurl.com/ygaa4qx ) at 12:30 PM. Please show up with a full tank of gas. Last car out at 1:00 PM.
2 hour mountain drive, mostly on Mulholland Dr and Decker Canyon Rd in the Santa Monica Mountains
End at Malibu Bluffs Park overlooking the ocean (http://tinyurl.com/ykouxow), picnic to follow
Bring what you like to drink. Food will be provided.

Contact Ace (805-338-1767) or Ron (661-618-3468) if you have any questions or need directions.
