Hi everyone, I am fairly new to the world of Fiat Spiders but was wondering in 74 did fiat make a 128 spider? According to the timeline I've been able to figure out it would just be an 1800cc 124 would it not?

I am no Guru, but i would say no to the 128 spider. just a 128. I dont think there really are 128's in the US. the 74 probably has the 1.8 but maybe could have had a 1.6 which is identical looking, where is the distributor located? on the back of the cam or down in the front next to the water pump? So to answer your question it would just be a 124 Spider with a 1.8 liter for the most part. So if my information is wrong someone needs to correct it please.

The Fiat 128 was a FWD SOHC sedan and coupe, built from 1969 to 1985. Never was a roadster. It became the basis for the X1/9 and later the Yugo.
One of the very few FWD cars available in the US in the 60's and 70's. They were great cars; fantastic interior space with a flat floor and huge usable trunk. The spare tire and jack were housed in the engine compartment, so you could load that sucker to the rim. It was my very first new car, and with winter radial tires was limited only by ground clearance in the snow. I remember the looks of astonishment on the faces of other Pittsburgh motorists when I was going up hills they would not dare go down. (8-track player optional)
