Interior refresh

After 29 years, My fiat finally has a new interior. Short shifter from the world famous "Michigan Short shifter"
Interior was done by ICS Import Auto service In LA. Took about 8 weeks to complete.

That's going to be tough. I retired from the navy 18 months ago. My wife is still active duty and we are headed to japan for the next 3 years in July. So once again my fiat will be in storage along with our other 3 vehicles.

I installed everything my self. I removed it and shipped to California. They did the work and shipped it back to me.

I got the Idea for the antenna while I while I was station in Spain. Most of Fiats and SEATS (pronounced Say-yaht) had there antennas in that position. I might switch it out for a stubby style.

It was recovered. I had the dash, door panels, upper and lower console, arm rest, shifter boot, boot, front and rear seats, rear quarters, and head rest done.

Did they pad the dash? It looks to be thicker. If so, do you know what the thickness of the pad was?

They used to be called Tony's Import Service, or something like that, then changed hands a few years ago, and are called ICS, though I understand that the place is pretty much the same and a lot of the same people still work there. See http://www.tonyimportcar.com/upholstery.html.

I had my dash covered by them several years back. They're vinyl covering is a padded material that helps to cover the imperfections underneath. They do clean up the cracks and smooth up the original material as much as possible, then cover it with the padded material. There are different textures and styles of stitching to choose from. I didn't ask, but I imagine they cover with leather, also, if you're willing to pay for it. They do a really nice job at a reasonable price.

I was asking because I'm about to cover my own dash. I just want to make sure I do it right. When Your dash was covered, did they do it in one piece or two. I noticed some recovered dashes were done in two with the seam on the front.
