Subject says it all. I'm a bit stumped in my dark garage. What is the proper way to remove the instrument panel from the BC Coupe? Alternatively, is there any way to remove individual gauges without accessing the backside of the panel? How are they held in?
Thanks

Re: Removing BC Coupe instrument panel / gauges?
Sorry, I cannot offer any help in how to remove the dashboard in a BC coupe. Nevertheless I know for sure (as these gauges are the same as in teh Spiders) that you nee to reach the backside of the gauges to remove them from the panel, each of them is attached with a easy removable bracket - if you can reach there you can feel a small round thingy that you can screw off which allows you to remove the gauge to an extent which allows you to remove the electric connectors.

You remove the whole panel area.
There are six (I think, but it may only be 3 with a couple of formed steel clips/hooks) threaded posts on the back of the black or wood vinyl covered steel panel (the CC aluminum panel is similar) with a large washer and a thumb nut used to draw the panel down onto steel straps in the surround.
You then undo all of the individual instrument connections. There are quick disconnects for each instrument. The speedometer cable has a thumb nut that needs to be undone.
IT is not a fun job as you have to get your hand up in the back side and there are a variety of sharp edged steel objects and no room to work in.
The AC and BC units are different as the length of the threaded rods are shorter on the AC units and won't reach the steel straps if you are changing versions as I did years ago. I have never dealt with a CC coupe so I don't know for sure whether the info is the same or not.

Thanks. Looks like I need to get my double-jointed elbows out.
