I just had my seats and arm rests professionally reupholstered again in leather, and I managed to find the original carpet and had that redone as well.

Cheers,

Jim,

Simply beautiful, what a nice color combination and I really like that new upholstery, nice carpets too! Did you redo the wood on the dash or is that original... looks great... overall a very impressive Spider... take car of her! :D

Jim, I hope you drive it on the street and not just in your back yard
The car interior and exterior look terrific, very nice colour combo, leather seats.. beut.
Hope I can see it up close next time we're in Victoria.
Did you have a FI or carb'd spider in the past? This car must be a nice boost in performance.

Thanks guys.
Yes, I do plan to drive her...however, I'm also going to have the engine and undercarriage steamcleaned and detailed as much as possible, so she'll only be driven in dry road conditions. Usually to the golf course, car shows, or Sunday drives with my wife for coffee.
Volumex only came in two colours; black and red. The red is actually more of a burgundy, the pics are deceiving. Tan or black interior. The wood is all original.
The best thing about driving this car though is the sound!
Oh, and by the way, this is my first Spider. I've always loved the design and wanted one, and I've owned many collector car/toys over the years, and now that I'm going into retirement I figured this will make a great retirement toy.
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks Gunsmith.
It's funny, the car looks like she's sitting high up in the pics...but really it's quite low.

Great car. Congratulations. I've seen those mags on some ads of European Spiders. Do you know whether these are original or after market and what make? Thanks and enjoy the car and your retirement. JimmyG

Hi Jimmy,
Those are stock wheels with the Volumex.
I believe you can buy aftermarket immitations.

I love it! Where does this car reside? Will it be coming to NC for the FFO? The only other Volumex I've seen is Chuck Storry's. It would be awesome to see two side by side.

Beautiful Jim. We are all envious but happy for you! Let's organize a get-together in the spring, so we can all enjoy your Volumex. I bet we can get Jim (SpiderJim) from Campbell River, Cosmo from Salt Spring Island, Greg in Victoria, and a few other locals, maybe even Chris (Narfire) from Naramata. Your car would be the big draw, of course!

Where did you get it?
