So I purchased some bogus fiat fender flares which is under investigation right now. Thats in another post. But Now I purchased a Fiat 850 Fuel tank Cap and Filler Neck. the guy says they are in very good condition. So I said Ok. They showed up today and I thought what is this package. All I hear is sand flopping around. I open it and here are my "very good parts" I just recieved. Mind you that I am trying to do a sort of abarth look with my car.
Well here is the new Crap I just bought. WTF is wrong with everyone. If i lived anywhere near these lowlife's I'd throw these products right through their front windows and spray paint their garage doors. FNA, No conscious and no respect.
Not to mention that the rubber is petrified
Does this happen to anyone else or am I just that special?
Now what? Do I tell this guy to take this crap back too?

It was on ebay but the guy had 850 parts up for auction. so I asked him if he happen to have the fuel neck and cap and he said he sure does. In good shape too. Ya, Right.
My God, I'd totally embarrassed to try to pass this crap off to anyone. maybe i should ask for photos next time.

You should ALWAYS ask for photos. Caveat emptor, especially on sleaze bay! I have had both great and terrible eBay experiences. Always ask every question you can and ask for pictures. If the seller is non-responive or "to busy" move on. Push this guy for a full refund and he either pays your shipping back or you get a refund and throw them away. At a minimum, negative feedback if he won't make it right. We all have to work together to identify these scumbags.MNspiderman wrote:It was on ebay but the guy had 850 parts up for auction. so I asked him if he happen to have the fuel neck and cap and he said he sure does. Wow, sorry to hear of your string of bad luck. You're not alone. I bid on an X19 a few years back in New York. I asked the seller many questions and received plenty of photos of the car. I was assured there was no major rust issues and the car could be driven home. I won the bid, paid $200 deposit and a week later, Ron and I hooked a trailer to the Suburban and headed to New York. After an 11 hour drive, we finally made it to the car only to find out it resided right next to a county salt pile and the car barely had enough metal to contain the engine and tranny. I told the guy I was getting back in my truck and going home. I was so sick I didn't even ask for my deposit and chalked it up to a lesson learned. Ron and I drove all night as fast as we could to get away from that car.

Being married to my Ex-wife for far too many years I learned a few things. Many people can look at the same item or situation and see something completely different than a rational person. This caused many unhappy and awkward moments around sane people. I am not saying this to defend this !@#%^ what I am saying is people are crazy and some are down right psychotic! I know a guy down here in Florida with an amazing collection of classic motorcycles and cars, amazing in his eyes anyways. One of the items is a Mercedes Gull-wing Rally model. These cars go for incredible amounts of money. He tells everyone it is "all original" which isn't exactly a lie, it has all of the parts it had when it was parked in the shed 40 years ago. Then rust and rats had there way with it as they have had with all the other pieces he calls all original. The point is this guy believes this crap is great and sees them as gems. The vast majority of theses vehicles don't have enough salvageable parts left to be donors for someone else s's project. As clear as the parts you bought are worthless this clown may believe that since they are somewhat recognizable they are somehow salvageable. You know how you can go over a friend or co-workers house for the first time and think "Oh my God how can they live like that" and they think everything is great? Well these people all sell crap on Fleabay. Hopefully he gives your money back and thinks your Crazy for returning that "All original" good stuff.

Gunsmith, I totally agree with you. Just look on craigslist and you see the same type of people there. They have some mildly attractive pile o crap that could possible have some restoration value but the want restored prices for it. It's freaking rediculous. Here in the Houston Craigslist, this guy advertized this 79 spider for 1500.00 for about a year b4 realizing that nobody in their right mind would purchase his pile o crap for 1500.00. Maybe 250.00 for parts. Ebay and Craigslist are full of Sanfords who see thier garbage as priceless gems.
