All Fiat owners in the S.E.,we have to step up to the plate for this FFO.The FLU brass wants us to prove that the club isnt a 'Northeast' club anymore. We have a really tough act to follow, the Pa. guys threw a well run and organized Freakout this year.So...if you are a member, make plans to join in or volunteer to help out.If you arent a FLU member, there is no good reason not to join! And Ron Luxmore....plenty of time to get a cheap flight!!Remember,I have a car you can use,and its even red!!(it has carb though  )

Count me in! I'll try to bring as many Fiats as I can. Should be real fun, especially since we're making a special run to the Tail Of The Dragon.

Is there such a thing as a Fiat freakout in the North west?

Jim, Kinda.... there is an event in Oregon in the summer and there was a thred not too long ago about a western FFO. Not sure who is leading that one or if there is anyone for that matter, but I'm considering the Oregon trip and hope a few more from up here could make it as well.
Just have to get another passport, mine just went through the wash.

Any idea when that is? I'd be up for that...it's a great drive, especially down the coast 101.

Summer time, usually in July. The best tap for information for this event is the Mirafiori Forum (http://www.mirafiori.com/) and the Oregon Mailing list. If you'd like to e-mail me, I can forward your e-mail to the Oregon list.

The Oregon event will be the third weekend of July so the Iron Butts can go from FFO to Oregon this year.

Thanks for the offer Craig. There's nothing I would love more than to make it out there. I'd even drive a carb'd Spider! We'll have to see how things are going work-wise and money-wise though. So far we're able to stay above water, but Krissy is the comptroller and it may be a stretch to talk her into it. I'm working on it.
Nitro: I have driven up to the event in Oregon two years running. It ends up being about a 2000 mile trip. Ventura Ace has me beat though, last year (Oregon 08) he drove about 8000 miles all told on a trip that included the event. In July!

What goes on at these events? Do you all just drive out and meet up somewhere, or is that just the start of a 2000 mile drive from the meeting point?

It's a 3-4 day camping event. People start showing up before it officially starts, which is on a Friday. It's at Howard Prarie Lake just outside of Ashville which is a private camping grounds right on the lake. We get the whole lake front section of the place reserved for Fiaters only for the event. There are informal drives and an autocross for those who want to participate, or you could just relax and enjoy one of the most beautiful lakefront settings I've ever seen. There are two meals that are for the entire group, a breakfast and a dinner. For those who don't enjoy tent camping there are facilities available (schooners), but they go pretty quickly, being as there aren't many. Here's a look at the 2007 event:

I couldn't find 2008 gallery which was my first year, and the year that Jim McGill brought the new 500 from Ireland and let anyone who wanted to drive it, but here's one of my pictures from Oregon 08. It's getting ready for the evening around the campfire where awards are handed out:
