funny how everyone wants to squeeze you for every penny and then they say that the need to be rebuilt for best performance. Why cant any of these lazy FKZ rebuild them then sell them as a quality product. Theres like practically no parts in these carbs, the kits are only 20 bucks each and you need two. whats the big deal. I do it all the time. Like the old car for sale runs terrific only needs a head gasket and an O2 senser. Ya right and how would you know this pal? Or people selling filthy dirty parts, Geeze can't you spare a second or two and clean them before you sell them. I must be the only person that thinks like this I swear. Alright enough bitchin.

I agree with you. I got burned on a set of IDFs from an Ebay seller saying they only needed rebuilt. The shaft was bent on one carb so I ended up selling the carbs in pieces as people needed spares.

Over the last few years, that seller has listed original sets of idf's with the waffle manifold every few months. I don't know if they are the same set that gets relisted, or if he sells a bunch. Coming from Beirut Lebanon is a bit odd, but your claim to fame could be that your carbs have been to hell and back.

That price is pretty good considering the carbs look complete, they are original 13/15 series, and it has the waffle manifold. Even if you buy a new setup from the vendors at $1700 (whoa) you still need to take them apart, clean them out, and double check the settings before installing them.

There are three things that I will only buy in person, and not over the internet: Cars, carburetors, and cameras. Old carburetors and old cameras are precision instruments and if screws are missing, or an ignorant previous owner made their own modifications it can render the item useless.

With carbs I frequently see where owners will drill right through the side of the throttle body into the throttle bore in vain attempts to either monitor vacuum or try to make an air bleed. Usually the hole is plugged up with a bolt or even an old wood screw that goes through the side of the carb through the choke tube and extends a few mm into the throttle bore.

Buying used carbs is kind of like buying used cars. More often than not you need to piece together two carbs to make one good one. Every carb I have, I also have a spare for parts.
