Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
Anyone using these? On paper they look good am considering them as a replacement.
My teenage son (not quite versed on a manual tranny) decided to take the spider out for a spin and managed to rip
the current mirror off on a street pole.
Fortunately my neighbor owns a body shop......and I was planning on painting the car eventually anyway.
Thanks

Re: Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
I have a pair that is going on the car this weekend. One difference I've noted is that I'll need to drill an extra hole in the door, seeing as how the bolt pattern is not the same as standard. The base does seem to cover up any marking from the mirror that was previously installed, however.
Happy to post pics next week and offer comments on the install.

Re: Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
I would appreciate the pictures. I had multiple holes from the various mirrors that were on the car in
the past, but the body shop is closing them all up, so I'll be starting from scratch.

I'm thinking of using these Vitaloni mirrors; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0072331199
Does anyone have pic's of this style. Are you guys using a different style mirror. I want to eliminate the hole in the door for the mirror. I was going to use a peep mirror. I like that they are chromed. But they wouldn't work unless I customize a bracket. I'm waiting for a reply to see if these Vitaloni's come in chrome.

Re: Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
Those Californian mirrors look sweet! even better than the bullet style I was considering...
Oh, and
Hey Brady, I've tried the clip on style on my car, but there isn't enough clearance on the front edge of the door to mount them. It's hard to say if you'll have better luck with the ones you're looking at on eBay...
Cheers,

Hi Brian,
Did you try to clip the mirror on the window? I saw another car that had it clipped on the window. It looked good. It wasn't a spider though.

Re: Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
I had mine mounted on the fly pane, it's just visible in the pic I posted in the following link: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... &sk=t&sd=a But I found the mirror too small to be of any real use.

Brian,
What was the size of the mirror you had? 3"? Was that the short arm peep mirror? Where did you have it mounted to? It looks like the Vertical frame behind the triangular window. Thanks

I just purchased these mirrors. As soon as I get them I'll let everyone know how they fit and look.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0072331199

Yeah, it was a 3" mirror. The ones you purchased look like the mount differently.... keep us posted, maybe I'll buy a set for myself.

Re: Vitaloni Californian Mirrors
Finally got the Californians mounted:
One thing to note: Mounted in the same location as stock, it's really hard to see much out of these even with adjustment. I think they'd be better mounted on the front fender to be really useful. It's not really much of an issue to me, as I only really drive on sunny days with the top down and can see over my shoulder just fine. I installed them to look good, comply with the law, and cover up the holes that were there from the previous mirrors.

They look pretty good. Too bad their not much use. Even the ones that mount there from Fiat didn't seem all that good. I'll let you know how the other style works as soon as I get them.

Thanks for the pictures RJ....
I decided to go ahead and pick up a pair and will play with the mounting location as the doors are now filled smooth.
I'd like to keep them on the door, maybe just move them forward a little more and see it they are functional.

I got the Vitaloni mirrors in. Here's a pic. They look cool. I won't know how useful they'll be until I get the car on the road next summer.

Brady,
Are you able to sit in the front seat and look into the mirrors at all? I love the look on the car, but they look like the wing-window pillar would be too much in the way for them to be functional.
