Here are a few pics showing how I did my headlights. I ran power from the batt. to a distribution block, then to a couple of bosch relays ($3 a piece), one for high, one for low and of course, used the exisiting wires for control. Big time difference, as you've all pointed out! I did the same for the wipers, you can see the other feed wire coming off the block. I also did the grounds in my car in a similar fashion, I'll post some more pics later.
Very clean work! Did you say you put the wiper circuit on relays too? How did you do that? Did you document your work? Alvon and I had talked about trying to figure out a way of doing just that several years ago, but I don't think we could come up with a feasable way.

Ever changing count of parts cars....It's a disease!
I did do the same for the wipers and documented the changes. I will dig up the changes and post them - in the meantime, here are two pics showing how I mounted the new relays to the exisitng relay panel (I have a '79 Spider). Of course, I have cleaned out the ones I didn't need any longer.
Looks so clean!!! Did you fuse it all at the battery? I put my relays under the L/ dash at the cowl, and used in-line fuses. The feed for the ignition was close to the relays.
