What is this?

Post by dartme »

Does any one know what the light below the other two lights is for? The top red left light is e-brake. The yellow right light is the flashers. Thanks!

It doesn't look original, so it could be anything

Originally, the "Fasten Seat Belts" light was on the dash in the same place.

I don't think they had a fasten seat belt light on the 1970 spiders. The inserts aren't original but the lights I think are.. the light is green but it fell out..

The fasten seatbelt light on the 70 and 71 models were round, just like the brake light and emergency flasher light. What year is your car?

Your signature indicates that you have a '70 spider, like mine. Here's a link to a page from the owner's manual. The top left is the brake effectiveness light. Top right is the Hazard flasher indicator. The bottom one indicates if you've left the key in the ignition (and open the driver side door).

Here's a link to an older picture of my '70 dash. Note that the color of the lenses is wrong. Csaba Vandor pointed out to me that the top 2 should be red and the bottom one is orange. I've changed them around since then.

My apologies to Denise. I have some newer pictures that show the great dash wood that she made for my spider, but none of the pictures show the detail of these lights.

No apology needed, Alvon. I just assumed the light would be for the fasten seatbelts since that's what it's for on my 72. Boy, they sure changed a lot from 70 to 72, didn't they?
