Is there an accepted proper color for the air horns and compressor?

Hal, this is how my '70 looked when I got it -- I believe this is original. I did spray paint the horns with a color that was pretty close to the orignal color of the metal plating. (click to enlarge)

It depends on what year model your car is too. Alvon's was a grey or silver but mine are blue. Ford engine blue matched perfectly. I've never taken a pic of my horns but here's one you can see a little part of one in the lower right hand corner of the pic by the radiator:

My car is a 69. I have extra horns, most of them are blue, mine are grey hammertone, hence the question.
