New Top...

Post by mdburd »

Hi Guys...

Two hours ago we were hit with ten minutes of golf ball-sized hail. I stopped counting at 28 holes in the roof section... Not to mention a rear window that now consists of just 6 inches of plastic in the center flanked by two giant holes. Sad--considering the top was new in 2007 and was in perfect condition...

Whatever top I get this time will be an inexpensive one--I'm looking at changing the car's color and getting an expensive multilayer fabric top custom made then--but now I just need something to last a year or so...

If you have suggestions of a good retailer--let me know...

Thanks:
Michael.

Man that sucks, what happened to the rest of the car? I bought a vinyl top from Ebay seller diamondmall. It was under $200 shipped and fit and looks good.

Hey Thanks! $185 shipped is about the least expensive anywhere...

Basically every body panel has divots in it now. For a car that had a very straight body--no accidents ever, etc, it was a really bad day...

Wow, what a terrible thing to happen! Did you have comprehensive insurance? The price of having it with a 0 deductible is well worth it in case something like this happens. I carry it on all of my vehicles.

Sorry to hear about that Denise. Was that the only car you had in the weather that got hit. I seen what some large hail can do and was amazed at the damage. Hopefully your covered. If you are, let us know what the insurance co. said.
