car cover for outdoors

Post by wengr »

hello, What's a good car cover for full time outdoor use? rain, snow, crap from trees, etc. I have no garage. the last cover I used on a different car seemed to do more harm than good.

Are you anywhere near a Costco/ Yea dumb question but.. Perhams Home depot
Anyway, I had a quick/portable shelter for awhile. It was about 8 X 20 or so and was about $300 cdn a couple of years ago. I had the verticle posts bolted to 2 X 12's and those weighted down. Coverd the car nicely for a while,I had also bought a cover from IAP (noha) that fits great. Had the car home doing some work on it and a wind came up..35-45 knots, and blew the thing damb near into the yard next door. Perhaps some wires over the top would have helped.
In the past I tarped my 70 for a winter and that pretty muched toasted the paint.
If you store it outside, set a few mouse traps in the car, got in mine one day and one came out from behind the heater.

You're going to need something that won't trap moisture and will let air circulate so it doesn't cause rust. One of the worst things you can do to a car is to cover it outside because of this.

I think this would be best, it doesn't touch the car's body and circulates air. Outdoor models are avail. but more $ than a cover.
