FI injector connector identification?
FI injector connector identification?
hello, on an 83 fi car, is there any way to identify what sensor connector goes where? by color maybe? I have the injectors(off white) connected, and the throttle position switch connected. I still need to connect the temp sensor in the tee, temp sensor underr the intake manifold, cold start injector and? I have blue, green, brown and black left. any advice appreciated. greg

Re: FI injector connector identification?
Mine is an '82, and it looks like we don't have an exact match, but here's how mine are:
Almond: sensor in "T"
Brown: sensor under the manifold
Blue: cold start injector
Black: auxiliary air regulator
It's just a guess, but I'd bet the green one is for your "T" temp sensor, mine has a splice and may have been replaced in the past. The others look original.

Re: FI injector connector identification?
hello Ron and thanks for checking this out for me. there is nothing about the lengh or old bends in my wiring that indicates that your suggestions are not correct. so I plugged them in that way and the car starts and runs. it does not seem to have any fast idle when cold, so maybe I have a bad aav? anyway thanks again, greg

Re: FI injector connector identification?
The auxiliary air regulator lets a small amount of air bypass the throttle plate to aid smooth idling during warm up. If the engine idles smoothly when warming up, it isn't something that you'd have to replace immediately. You can test the AAR by cooling it and seeing if the little triangular hole is opening. If not, the best source I know of for replacement is a rebuilt unit from Mark ( http://www.allisonsautomotive.com/)
Glad you got it sorted out.
