The joy of new tires and brakes and ball joints and...

Post by ga.spyder »

I am finally completely, absolutely done with the front end work on my car.It has been a little aggravating with the failed new bushing and 3 trips to the alignment shop.I put new Kumho Ecstas on it Fri.,but only had a chance to drive it home.Sunday,I thrashed her! Front end is tight,no twitchiness or wandering. The steering is great, very responsive. The alignment and balance are perfect..had it at 90-95  mph no vibration and you can take your hands off the wheel and it tracks laser straight. And,the new tires are awesome. It takes so much less effort on the wheel in hard corners,it's taking a little getting used to.
I was second guessing the whole rebuild after a few of the issues I had.The only thing that really had to be replaced were the bushings. But now, after the payoff,I am glad I did the whole enchilada at one time.

Hey, hey, don't forget about me! I promise not to grin next time I sit in your car...it's bad for the early car image.

I hate to tell you this, but the yellow roll bar pads are installed on the wrong bar. They are supposed to go on the bar under your feet!

That would have been a lot more comfortable! Thanks for the heads up, Matt. :D

I was sitting in the deep water. The left rear floorboard was the only one not rusted out.

Alvon, you've met Ron. Do you think he could fit into a Fiat floorboard?

Aaahhh, but nobody would suspect me taking a nap upside down in a Fiat.

And the big question ....did you ever get that clip back on the brake pedal? Denise got nominated for that job because she is the only one that could fit under there! Nice shoes :P

No I didn't. I was hoping for the floorboard to fill back up with rain water so I could soak my butt when I try again.
