Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix/Car Show

Mark your calendar….history will be put in motion this summer at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio with the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, June 26-28.

The annual celebration of legendary automobiles will feature a Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, June 28. Cars of any make and model are welcome and eligible for the Concours d’Elegance, where the featured marque is the Mini Cooper. The Ohio Valley Chapter of FLU has reserved a car coral for Fiats and Lancias. In addition, all cars participating in their respective club’s coral are eligible for a parade lap around the famous 2.4 mile, 15 turn road course. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see hundreds of vintage sports cars on display, incredible vintage racing, the opportunity to drive your car on one of the most famous tracks in the country, and , most importantly, to meet and network with fellow Fiat/Lancia enthusiasts. Darn, I will be at Denises that weekend. And I always wanted to go to mid-Ohio for a race, let alone drive on the track!

I recently attended 'The Mitty' vintage meet at Road Atlanta.Great fun ,racing,etc...The highlight ? The 8 laps around the track in my Spider.It was awesome...even though I got black flagged for passing a Jag in the esses.

John, the guy had a beautiful E type,but couldnt drive worth a flip!I went by him,and so did the guy behind me in a Cobra.When they pulled us in we convinced the lady that they had 'waved us by' She bought it,and sent us back out...way behind the pack!Now we had open track for 2 laps and I drove the Spider 10/10ths.I let the Cobra go first,discretion being the better part of valor.Are you taking the Porsche ,also?

What a blast! I am not taking the Porsche. In fact, I am unfortunately unable to a attend the event as we are driving home from our family vacation that day. However, I will be attending the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next month where BMW is the featured marque. At that event, only the featured marque cars are allowed out on the track. Good thing I have an E30 M3 Unfortunately, I won't have an open track in front of me like you did. That is way cool.
