I have a couple of issues and questions. I have attempted to install my own black stayfast "canvas" top...it really wasnt too difficult to do, but I do have a couple of issues and questions I need clarified.
Firstly, I cannot get the rear velcro strips to reach their attaching point. The top is pretty centrered....the passenger side does cover about a quarter inch higher the the driver side.
And finally at the bow...1/3 of the seam is facing down but the other 2/3 isnt...now its not too bad and I rarely drive it with the top up...but if possible I would like to reattempt to have the seam downward.
Can I peel off the top off the header bow and reattach it....I used the 3M Superweatherstrip adhesive?

Re: Top Installation
umm.. tough questions, since i have not experienced those issues. that glue eventually sets solid enough to cause damage when removing an old top, as you well know. maybe with a heat gun you might be able to soften it enough to get it loose without damage - - - but if it is just a cosmetic issue, i would not chance it.
as far as the back is concerning, did you OVER stretch the rear, and could you loosen that bracket to let some canvas slacken out enough to secure your flaps at the rear windows?
btw - i NEVER attach that velcro
