Fiat 124 Spider floor pans

Post by NightLynx »

I am looking at replacing the floor pans in my '72 and was wondering who has the best deal on them. I have seen some on ebay from the netherlands for 162 + 47 shipping. I have seen some at IAP also for 214 (don't know tha amount for shipping). Has anyone else had experience getting these? I have not tried Bayless, Vick's or Bruce's yet.

Thanks,
Keven

I'm looking for front floor panels for my 79 Spider. I came across these at Classic 2 Current Fabrication- $60 ea front or rear. I'm still looking, but that seems very reasonable.

These old convertibles are always a bit rusty in the low spots of the floor. Not being one who likes a car with a roof, I've redone/restored four in the last few years. (65 Chevelle, (2) 52 MGTD's, 70 Fiat Spider) Most of the MG floor is wood, but the metal supports, cowling and frame always need attention.

I like to cut, replace a small an area, leaving as much original solid floor as possible. Several small patches instead of cutting out the whole floor.

Take your time, cut large, trim, mark, trim, mark... small steps. When it fits, secure the edges, and tack, hammer flat, then weld short stretches at a time to avoid distortion. Follow up with grinder, body putty, sanding, seam sealer.

Quickly done, you'll have a solid new floor.
When very carefully done the repair is nearly invisible.
Just takes time and patience. Good luck.
