Studs?

Post by Rickwv »

Does anybody know the stud or bolt size and thread count for the stud/bolts on the top of a Weber 32/36 DFEV that holds the air cleaner on. I have gone thru my nut and bolt can and cannot find the right one.

Thanks
Rick

I think the stud size might be a 4mm or 6mm but don't quote me on that. As for the thread pitch I've found that the majority of them on the spiders and all fiats has been 1.25 .

I just checked mine and they are 5mm x 0.80
At least that's the size tap that goes in the nut
Mines not the same model as yours. Mines a 32 ADHA but I think they are all the same.

they are 5mm x .8. The master carb rebuild kits used to come with 6mm replacements for stripped studs, but that was in the old days

well, my 32/36 DFEV is only three years old, and delivered from Weber Carbs Direct. i used (double checked tonight) 6m x 1.00

and (out of breath) i just checked the two year old 32/36 DFEV that i purchased from Pierce Manifolds. It too uses 6m x 1.00

a 5m x .8 would be way, way too small for my 32/36 DFEV's

sounds like the replacement Webers use 6mm studs

now my ignorance will begin to show.... on this topic.

was the 32/36 ever used as a stock Fiat carb? i'm all but certain the answer is no for Spiders, but I am not familiar with the other models.

and DFEV (electric choke) was not an OEM choice either, to my knowledge.

if anyone has info to refute this statement, i'd be happy to hear it.
