Kentucky Micro-Meet

Post by Hutch »

Blast came down from Clarksville, IN to meet up with me in Louisville. Beautiful day for a drive! Had a lot of fun comparing his 78 with my 77. Learned a lot. Dug through my parts stash as well as comparing Spider stories from years ago. Really enjoyed the afternoon.

Ain't it neat to have more than one Spider in the driveway!
Hey, a micro-meet is better than no meet at all.

Yes, it was nice to meet Hutch and his family. The fiats got a good looking over, and Hutch found a trunk light I didn't even know I had, it had been painted over. We both have a lot of the same repairs to make and are close enough we can sometimes help each other.
Racydave, I can't wait till May. It sounds great, and we can add another local guy to the Fiatville Chapter. :D
After putting the Spider on the interstate for Dozen miles or so, I said it won't be back on it untill I replace a few parts, and make sure some others are a little better tuned. I didn't have any troubles, but I could tell its just to soon to travel in ole blue.

Madison and Clifty Falls sounds great. I've never been to either one but have heard good about both. Sounds like a plan. Maybe with all the advance notice we can get some more to join in. Let's pick a date and make it official. I usually have to work the Kentucky Derby which is 5/2 in 2009 I believe, so the first weekend is out for me.

On the FLU site, there is some interest from some folks in Ohio also! You guys will follow the Ohio river to get there, I will not see the river coming from the north. So, Ill be ready to do some exploring after we arrive. Dont forget the wives! Carol loves to cruise!

My wife had never been in a convertible until I bought this Spider. She will love this! We will probably hook up with Mr. and Mrs. Blast for the run up there.

If not deployed again, could an old guy from Terre Haute, IN and wife join in as well?? We're old Crestwood/Louisville/Bowling Green residents and proud owners of an 81 spider. :D

Just bumpin' this thread to keep it on everone's radar. I still have to rebuild my front end before I feel comfortable putting many miles on my Spider. That should happen way before April though.
