I've had a hard time finding feedback from spider owners who have upgraded to performance springs. Did you feel it was worth the investment?

The performabnce springs are the best modification you can do to the late model spiders. My 81 was transformed to more like the handling of my original 72. Stock my 81 felt like an elephant on roller skates.
