I recently bought a 1979 Fiat Spider 2000, my first ever vintage sports car. Not really knowing much about them I noticed that the hood/bonnet and trunk/boot badge is what appears to be an Abarth badge. Image here:

On doing some research to see the difference in models it looks like the hood and trunk on the Abarth model are fiberglass. Mine are metal. Does this rule out mine being an Abarth? Would it mean that a previous owner put these badges on to make it seem like one and are there any other things I can look for to determine if it is an Abarth or not?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciate!
Do I have a 1979 Abarth?

They didn't make an Abarth model in 1979.
1979 Fiat Spider (since new)
2005 Lincoln LS (the wife's car)
2003 Chevrolet Cavalier (daily driver)
1999 Honda Shadow VLX 600
1972 Grumman Traveller 5895L (long gone).

I think someone put Abarth badges on your otherwise fine (but stock) '79 spider.
