I have signed up at last. Excellent forum! I have a rust free 1981 2000ie, red, 37kmiles. Bought it in 1984, it was probably sent back to Europe when Fiat left USA in the 80's. If my memory is correct it had a dealer sticker on the rear left corner mentioning Carib Auto or something like that....Everything still original except for the paint. I will make some modifications to the car this year, modifications that can be easly reverted.

2nd try to reply due to the website problems after the relaunch:

first of all: you're welcome! I know the story about about the fllooded Spider from New jersey well! The German company Liebermann from Munich reimported appprox 140 cars to sell them in Germany and Europe. Some remained original, some were repainted some repaired?!
There were various Limited Edition Spider in champagne metallic included. Some lost their plates after repaint.

Your car was first registered 1984 in Norway?! We got some Norway Spider in the worldwide Spider Register with same story. The came from Germany and were first registered in 1983/84.

So is your repainted car a Limited Edition model with original color gold? Would be great to get a picture of your car (incl. VIN to identify your car) for the Register!
