Hello from Northern CA!

Hello All,
I recently bought a white 73 124 spider with a 1608cc. Her name is Bianca, according to the PO. “She’s white, Italian, and throws tantrums occasionally”
I bought her about 100 miles east of Redding, my hometown & was able to drive back the same day with relatively few issues.

After replacing the front calipers & rebuilding the driveshaft we made our way down to SF where I currently live. We went on an outing to Napa last weekend and had our first tantrum- car would start ok and drive for about 30 seconds then bog down & die. After checking the basics and getting nowhere we called a tow truck. (First time riding in one!)

After replacing all the fuel lines, filters (again) & fuel pump, I discovered that the float needle tube had become completely unscrewed causing severe carb flooding.
She is slowly regaining my trust every day on the way to work, and we are having garage therapy sessions most nights to work out our issues- mostly carb tuning and cooling related.

I want to thank all the fiat experts out there as I have already made extensive use of your combined knowledge & look forward to being able to ask my own questions here.

Thanks Bryan, I will definitely do that sometime. I don’t think I’m in need of any parts at the moment, but I’d certainly appreciate being able to pick your brain a little bit.

welcome to the forum! Can we get some pics of your car?

Can we get the VIN for the worldwide Spider Register? California still counts various 73 models with 1600 cc, see here:
