gearbox measurement help

Post by rug »

I need some help with a gearbox measurement. If someone has a gearbox laying around, could you measure this for me? I need the distance from the bellhousing from to the gearstick (see image). This is quite hard to do while the gearbox is in the car :)

My spare is missing the shift tower.

I measure 18.5 +/-0.2" from the block to the center of the shaft just forward of the speedo gear.

Hi, from the shifter in neutral position to the mating surface of the bell housing is 26 3/16” or 66.5 cm

Thanks guys!

That's exactly what I needed! Don't want to say too much what I need it for but if it all works out it will show up in the "custom stuff" section soon (well, in a few month..)

And it feels like 166.5 when you're installing the bleeding thing.

Pro tip: center console out, metal plate underneath out.
