Hello, I’m putting a 74 hood on a 79 with a 2 litre and have read about the possible interference between the hood and distributor. (as well as radiator).
I’ve rotated the distributor as many have done before, but the question I have not been able to answer by reading through the board is whether stock plug wires ordered through the vendors are long enough to reach the plugs with the cap pointing in this direction. ( no plug wires on hand to check this). Thx.
Will stock plug wires reach?

Re: Will stock plug wires reach?
I can't say that all plug wires will work, but all the ones that I have ordered from various vendors over the years have been plenty long. If you're unsure on the plug wires, you could always call the vendor and get a measurement on the lengths, and then see if that would work in your case. Most plug wire sets that I've seen come with 2 longer wires and 2 shorter wires (and the wire to the coil of course).
Note that the stock air cleaner housing can also interfere with the hood, which is one reason why I have a low-profile aftermarket air cleaner on my '69 (flat hood) with a 2L engine.

Thanks Bryan, I’ll shoot them an email and get the lengths. And thanks for mentioning the air cleaner housing, never thought of that.
