Drilling holes in the top of the shock tower!?
Looking up, through the top of the tower:

You can see the slit, cut in the upper spring mount, to drill from below, to above.
For cripes' sake, what happened here!?

Perhaps someone drilled through a shock to drive a pin through to aid in its removal. I would have taken a die grinder to the shock stud and cut it down to the washer from above.

Is that a tack weld there too thats been drilled out?
