Anyone upgrade the stock horns to dual air horns (Fiamm)? Just wondering how difficult it is, and if it's worth taking it to my mechanic.
Any input is helpful....thanks!

Re: Installing Air Horns
My car has it, although I didn't install it.
The car's horn is the most loud and Italian noise ever. It's really high pitched.
There is also a relay for it. Not sure if that's factory or not, could be.
Not really difficult to wire up, it's 2 extra wires.

Agree about the sound. Kinda like what you would imagine if you stepped on a small but irritable pig. Personally, I kinda like it (the sound, not stepping on a pig), but I also am the kind of person who very rarely uses my horn.
Yes, the relay is factory original. Both my cars have them.

Re: Installing Air Horns
I did it on my 79, basically unplugged the existing horns, connected the power to the compressor and mounted everything.
the challenge is in the mounting of the horns behind the grille, depending on what came with yours, you may need to fab some brackets to hold the horns and you need to wrestle with the grille.
not hard and i like the result.
cheers

Re: Installing Air Horns
Thanks, everyone for the replies. Watched a couple of videos on YouTube and it seemed pretty involved. If my mechanic doesn't charge too much, think I'll have him install.
