Head Gasket Fit
On Tim's '83, we put the head back on yesterday, and although everything seems fine and is aligned, there is a small bit of the red sealant ribbon, that is part of the head gasket, exposed at the front of the block, passenger side, which we find odd. Anyone have any similar experience? The head sits flush to the block, all the bolts torqued up fine, and there is no apparent gap anywhere. But it just seems odd. Here are a couple of pics:
