It’s been quite a few years since I had to sell my 1971 Sport Spider but I am happy to report that I just took delivery of a very solid but somewhat mechanically neglected 1968.
Just placed an order to refresh the whole brake system, I’m sure that will just be the tip of the iceberg.
Anyway, it’s good to back in the fold and look forward to learning from you all.
Thanks

Hi
and welcome back again?!
Hopefully a good choice, driving a 69 AS-type Spider too! Is your car an original California car? Can we get some pics to see?
Any knowledge of your old 71 Spider? Perhaps the car is registered in the worldwide Spider registry and so still existent?
Greetings from stormy Hamburg, germany!

My 1968 was delivered to Texas, where it stayed until last week. It had two prior owners, most recently a retired American Airlines employee who kept it in his garage since 1992 unused. Since it sat in the heat most of the dash and rubber is baked, but the body is very good.
I am starting the required full fuel, cooling and brake refresh at this point.
I will get pictures posted soon hopefully.
