Anyone interested in a Pininfarina hardtop?

Post by TheBrokeEnthusiast »

I own an original fiberglass Pininfarina hardtop (pictures below and through link). Would anyone be interested in purchasing it? I am located in central Iowa and haven't looked into options for shipping.

I don't have a hard asking price, just looking for offers.

I would love to own one, I can say that much. Shipping doesn’t sound like a lot of fun

No kidding! I might be willing to deliver or meet someone halfway... Depending on the distance.

I seem to have some recollection of it being mentioned it just fits into the luggage bins of a Trailways or Greyhound Bus which was claimed to be the least expensive way to ship bulky items. You have to drop the item off at the Bus Depot and the buyer has to go to their local Bus Depot to pick it up or arrange for local shipping.

Greyhound package express has the following weight and size restrictions:
  • "Size: The maximum weight per package is 100 pounds. The maximum dimensions that we can accommodate are 82" L x 47" W x 29" H."

Thanks, that looks like a smart option! I am about 20 minutes from two of the depots.
I went to grab quick measurements, it is around 55" x 55" x 20". I would bet that it can be tipped to fit.

dunno....might be worth checking at the bus station. They are not necessarily "careful" with stuff, but on the other hand I have shipped & rec'd stuff via Greyhound many times over the year.

Fastenal also has a LTL freight shipping system that might be an option worth looking into.

That is definitely something to consider... Sufficient packing methods are important, but I could see carelessness wrecking my day nonetheless. I'll look into Fastenal's shipping.
