1975 spark plug gap size

Post by Johnathanflynn »

Use .030 . from what I’ve found and looked up on many sources I’ve learned that the factory specs set the gap at .020 Don’t do that tho from what I’ve found. The factory specs are for factory plugs and I can almost guaranty you won’t have those by now. Instead I’ve heard you should gap them at .025 or .030 this all depends on the brand you buy tho. I myself have AUTOLITE plugs in my fiat. And yesterday I regaped them to .030 . They were at .025 except for one I found was already at .030. When the car was like this it didn’t have a regular idle. It was very random and you could feel little bumps that felt like bumps in the road. Since I regapped them to .030 the car has run supper smooth and It makes driving feel like there is more horse power even tho I probably didn’t actually add any at all. So in conclusion if you’re wondering what gap size to use I recommend >>>>>>>>> .030 <<<<<<<<<<. if you think you are having miner mistimings or a bad idle I believe this is a cheap quick way to START solving the problem.
