Brake fluid and reservoirs

Post by paulhastings »

Hello everyone! This is my first post and looking forward to being part of this community. I have a 1974 124 sport spider. Approximately 8 months ago the master cylinder and hoses to the reservoirs were changed. This has solved the occasional leak from the old MC. However, I noticed the brake fluid is already dark in color. I plan to flush the system this month. My car has the original dual brake reservoirs. I didn't label which serves the rear and which the front when changing the MC nor could I find in the manual or online. Does anyone know which reservoir is front and rear? It would save a little trial and error.
Thanks!

The hose from the reservoir to the master cylinder closest to the brake booster is for the front brakes. There are two brake line ports there. The single port at the end of the master cylinder is for the rear brakes.
