Idle Adjuster Broke

I went to start up my fiat and noticed it was having trouble starting. The engine would turn over but it would try to start and die. I opened the hood and noticed the idle adjuster was loss so I started to tighten it and the whole metal piece broke off. Anyone have this problem and know if it will involve replacing the whole casing?
