Water Pump Bolts Needed
77 Spider. Water pump went out on the way to Detroit's Woodward Dream Cruise last summer (best car cruise in USA). Limped back home, stopping twice to add antifreeze. 1st time wife road with me in the 'new' car; not sure i'll get a second chance! I finally started the process to replace water pump recently, nice mid winter project. In the process of removal, I broke off 2 of the 4 bolts in the engine block. Enjoyed many days and nights trying to extract them. Process went like this: Heat, WD40, Heat, Phone a friend, WD40, pray, Phone a friend, Heat, WD40, Heat, WD40, pray, pray. Extractor, in the end, did the trick. Now, i'm ready to start putting things back together. Now i need to replace these Water Pump bolts. Cannot find the SIZE listed anywhere. Anybody out there know the bolt sizes for these little stud bolts or a good supplier ??

Re: Water Pump Bolts Needed
My shop manual states its an M8 x 1.5mm. I usually drop a toothpick into the tapped hole to measure the depth. Then add the web depth on each bolt hole of the pump housing, then subtract 5mm so you don't bottom out the bolt an brake it. Torque spec is light at 17 ft-lb.
