My fuel pump does not appear to be coming on. I took the fuel line loose at the pump, under the car and am not getting any fuel to come out. I also do not appear to be getting any voltage to the pump. All of the fuses under the dash appear to be good, but none are labeled so I can't tell which is the fuel system. The car is an 84 spider.
Where is the control relay for the fuel pump located? One of my manuals says "in the engine compartment" but that is a little vague for my preference.
Any help or idea you guys have would be greatly appreciated. I am moving next week and need to get my car running again ASAP.
Thanks,
Scott
No Fuel, in FI car
Dont know if this will help but here it goes...
Power to the fuel pump is turned on by the AFM flap. To be sure this is still working you can take off the air box and while the key is in the accessory "on" position poke the AFM flap open with your finger. You should be able to hear the buzz of the fuel pump turning on.
If you dont, then there might be a problem with that circuit either in the AFM itself (unlikely I think) or in some connection/ground within it.
Just a thought.

Where would the ground be located for the pump? There is a + and - wire connected to the pump. Both run up throught the floorpan under the driver seat and then up under the dash somewhere I believe. I haven't been able to trace it under the dash yet. I am hoping there is an exposed relay somewhere I can check, just can't find it.
the FI system is controlled by a dual relay, on a panel under the glove box. Even though the pump is switched on by the AFM, it should run for a couple of seconds when the key is turned on. Fuse power for the pump is an inline fuse near the steering column. The ground for the pump is at the left taillight.
