Beautiful day for a drive and "car watching"

Post by nelsonj »

We've had some wonderful driving weather of late here in So Cal. It was about 90 today with clear blue skies and I took Bella out for a 100+mile loop down to Santa Monica, up the coast on PCH to Oxnard, through the farms areas in Camarillo and back home here in Simi.

The humidity has been single digits, and the car seems to just love it and has been running great. My theory is the super dry air results in purer and more efficient combustion and a very peppy car.

Anyway, with the weather this nice lot's of people take their toys out for drives on the coast and on the back-roads. Besides the run-of-the-mill Teslas, Porsches, Jags, BMers, Mercedes, Audis, Vetts and other nice cars mostly beyond my means, I did see quite a few mentionables. But to my surprise no Ferrari's today. Here's a partial list - some of the cars I'm taking my best guess because I don't see them very often...

New Fiat 124 Spider (this is only the 2nd I've seen)
Lamborghini Aventador
Pantera
Audi R8 (2 different ones)
BMW i8 (2 different ones)
Porsche Carrera GT (I think - I'm still not sure what type of car it was, but it had a unique round cockpit.)
Maserati Ghibli
Maserati GranTurismo
Tesla Roadster
1962 (?) Corvette convertible
1970ish Convertible Mercedes sedan (top up)

Not a bad day for 'car watching'. I need to get a dash cam...

Peace.
Out.
