Hey all,
So I've looked at the casting number on the side of my engine out of curiosity and wanted to look it up. However, after looking through the forum here as well as Brad Artigue's manual I can't find my casting number. The casting number for my car is 132.AC.40/9. The one thing I did gather was that because the ID starts with 132.AC it would suggest that it came off of a '73 coupe or spider.

Re: Engine Identification Help
my '77 engine number is on top of the engine in the space where the spark plugs are located.

Re: Engine Identification Help
The engine is best identified by the numbers stamped in to the block, not the cast numbers. The head cast numbers identify the head, it may have been transplanted on to a different block.

Thanks for the replies!
Yeah the numbers I posted were stamped into the side of the block under the intake manifold. The head casting identifies with a 2L head but the block does not, so it looks like someone transplanted a different short block in my car. Anyone have any suggestions on where/how to identify this block aside from normal sources? I can't find this block number anywhere online or in Artigue's manual

Re: Engine Identification Help
don't use the casting number for id, use the stamped numbers. On a 2L it's stamped just above the oil filter adapter, on an 1800 it's stamped close to the fuel pump mount

Sorry it's been awhile, anyway here is what I found. There is a round ID plate above the oil filter. It has on it "132CB1A" followed by, "4194206".
