Exhaust manifold heat shield missing on '81

I understand the heat shield is affixed with studs screwed into the manifold. My manifold lacks any attachment points. So it must not be original to my '81, correct? If I were to acquire a shield for an '81, would there be any alternative way to attach it? Or is there an earlier shield that would work that is attached in a different way? Or should I leave well enough alone?

does your exhaust manifold have the O2 sensor installed?
