I am considering eventualy replacing the seats in my Spider. As in the case of most spiders my seats are slightly contorted and bent out of shape. I read in a british classic car magazine that this is the result of awkward positioning when one raises the roof.
I have seen many options including seats from the Honda CRX or Miata. I have also seen some cars with reccaro or cobra styled racing seats. In my humble opinion I feel that the backs of these seats are to high for our cars. Astheticaly it seems off.
The option I like best is perhaps getting a pair of Abarth styled seats. They provide plenty of latteral support, have a low backs and a period correct look while not looking to old fashioned.
I have seen a Giulietta spider with a set of Cobra SFX seats instaled and they looked perfect for the car. This was also featured in a classic car magazine.
Has anyone had any experience with the Abarth-esque Cobra seats? I am aware that some modification is required but I think they have a realy nice look to them.
