Has anyone found a decent upholstery kit? I am not talking about seat covers, but the kind kind where you remove your old seat cover material and replace it with the new one. I see them at Vick and Auto Ricambi, but wow!!!! They must be stitched with gold.

I purchased mine from "World Upholstery" I am happy with the results. Their kits are available bot front and back seat or you can purchase just the pair of front seats.

I recently installed Vicks in my Fiat 2000. I had purchased in the end of 2014; but just got around to installing.
I think they are manufactured by one of the above companies (I think World Upholstery). The Vicks price was $259; which included the back seat.
I am extremely happy with fit. I steamed the foam to rejuvenate; bought new seat bottom cushion for drivers side. I am having very minor problem of mounting tab "unmounting" when someone sits in seat; but that does not have to do with Vicks. My original seat covers were also doing it. And it's doing it less and less as vinyl softens up . I will add spline when I have to get at seats again to install new seat belts ).
The picture in my thread shows some wrinkles; but they are now gone with upholstery mounted and sitting in sun

I bought mine from Vicks. Not really impressed for the money. Fitment for front seats totally sucked - way too loose even with good foam. Had a professional upholsterer do it for me and he said the kit was awful. Headrests were especially difficult - way too small and shape didn't match very well. BTW: Rear seats were nearly perfect. Not sure where they get them.
The color of 'tan' is more of a peachy tint. Door cards tan vs convertible tan vs carpet tan vs - - looks like a clown car with all the shades of tan going on. Had to SEM match everything to the seats - went to black carpet and called it a day.

honestly, the kit from Vicks (which I think is World Upholstery) fit great (1981 FI). And they were only $259 total (including rear seat). I used on both old foam , and new seat foam bottom. I really hope that upholsterer was describing fit with hog ties/seam wire being used........
As for head rest, there is a "polarity" for the fit. I twice put them on backwards; but very easy to put on when using the "vacuum trick" to make headrest foam smaller.
Maybe you received wrong set of upholstery for your model year?

I certainly hope not. Did the seats change that much over the years? Very loose at the lower lumbar portion of the seats (sides).
Hey could you email me an image of what yours look like (or post here?). I'll pm you my email.
Thanks!
