setting idle bypass screw 34 DMS carb

Post by milo »

Hello - I'm preparing to install a 34 DMS 202 (not DMSA) on a 1608 engine, and I'm looking for information on setting the "idle bypass screw". This is a brass screw on the carb base next to the idle mixture screw. It looks like the DMS/DMSA series carbs may be among the few that have this extra screw, so instructions are left out of the general weber carb tuning guides one can find on line. The carb is new old stock, so the idle bypass screw is currently in the factory position. Leave it alone?
