Weber 34 ADF port connection question

On a Weber 34 ADF carb, what is this port and what does it get connected to?

I found a PDF file on the Weber 32 ADFA and 34 ADF carburetors at the following site: http://www.njfiats.org/joomla/images/st ... er_adf.pdf. The photo below shows connections to the top and bottom of the charcoal canister on what I think is a Weber32 ADFA carb. Would the 32 ADFA and 34 ADF connection for the charcoal canister top be the same? My 34 ADF has no port for the charcoal canister bottom connection shown in the photo.
