Auto choke back side spring

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how the wound spring and plastic piece on the back side of the choke should be oriented. You can see from the pictures that the business end came loose, but it did so accidentally. Did not see the orientation!!

In other words- what does the spring that is wrapped around the white plastic piece attach to?
