Usually when the rubber bushing that is part of the shock absorber has rotted away that badly its time to replace the entire shock absorber. Be sure to clean up the mounting bolts so that they are smooth or replace them with new ones so that they do not grind away the bushings (if not sleeved) on the new shock absorbers (possible called dampers in your neighborhood).

They should be available at your local parts store however you can order them from Recambi, Vick's, etc however my local parts stores have both the Monroe and KYB shocks for less and there are no shipping charges. The suspension used on the Spider was used in a number of cars in Europe that were produced for many years so the chances of those parts being available locally are probably better than they are here in the US.

You need to replace both of them on one end if the car or all 4 but never just one.
